The ever popular classic just went electric!

Completed in 2017, this Beetle has undergone a full mechanical (and electrical) restoration by the current owner to turn this into a very unsuspecting car park drawcard.

Starting with a standard 1200 beetle, the engine was taken out and replaced with a HPEVS AC-50 electric motor with regenerative braking mated to the original 4 speed gearbox (yes it’s an manual electric vehicle!). Next the brakes were upgraded to comply with regulations with a SkinnedKnuckles narrowed front beam fitted for a better stance. Replacing the fuel tank and behind the rear seats sits 37 CALB 180ah – Lithium Iron Phosphate – batteries (safest battery type for electric vehicles currently on the market). New seats covers were installed to finish off the look. All alterations & specifications towards bottom of listing.

Body work and paint were left as is as when purchased – a more patinated condition – giving this Beetle a unique look and feel compared to other fully restored electric Beetles on the market. Maximum driving range of 140km.

This is a great opportunity to get into an electric classic car scene without the headaches of the conversion process!

Sold with balance of registration and RWC (if sold in QLD).
