A very rare cruiser that never made it to Australian shores, this 65 ford Fairlane is the talking point at any car show!
 
During the late 50’s to early 60’s, the ford Fairlane sold in Australia was a locally assembled American designed vehicle. In 1964, Fairlane production and sales ceased for a year while a all new Australian designed Fairlane was introduced in 1966. During this time the Galaxy was the only large upmarket ford sedan available on sale. While American designed Fairlane assembly ceased, American production continued until 1970.
 
While very similar in design to the 1964 Australian assembled FD Fairlane, this 1965 model was built in America and recently imported 2 years ago from Seattle in November 2016 by the current owner. With more squared off proportions and a strikingly similar roof design to the ford Mustang coupe, the 65 model has a musclier look to match it’s performance.
 
This vehicle is in excellent condition, with all the original matching numbers 289 V8 mated to a 3 speed automatic gearbox. The duel exhaust system giving the Fairlane an excellent note when pushed hard with a nice low down burble when cruising. While in the care of the current owner, this vehicle has been meticulously maintained with a long list of maintenance items ensuring that the next owner will have years of trouble free motoring.
 
Small upgrades include power assisted brakes, chrome wire wheels with brand new tires, bonnet scoop, twin aerials fitted to rear and larger front sway bar to eliminate body roll. While the interior has been recently reupholstered to original specification/colour and is in excellent condition with original fixtures and fittings.
 
This vehicle has loads of history from the previous owners and has all import documentation. Comes with personalized registration plates (65FLN) and registration until 16/11/2018 if sold in Queensland. Roadworthy is also supplied upon sale.
 
These vehicles very rarely come up for sale thus is too good of an opportunity to pass up on this very rare Fairlane.
