This 2-door, 4-cylinder Torana 1600 Deluxe remains in almost complete original condition – a rare sight to see as most of these Torana’s were converted to 6 cylinders or used for parts. It retains its original gold/brown paint scheme with white vinyl roof & sunshade with contrasting brown vinyl interior and brown carpet. Unfortunately time has caught up with the paint/body work and is showing some small signs of rust around the door jams and taillights – although very easily fixable. Some of the lower body work has been repainted.
 
The interior has aged better with the original seats in very good condition with a few very small seam tares that are easily fixable. The carpet might be saveable with a heavy steam clean or leave as is for a patinaed look. Hood lining is in fantastic shape though the dashboard has almost certainly been replaced at some point.
 
Under the hood remains the original 1.6 litre slant 4 cylinder mated to the original manual gearbox. The engine has recently undergone a full rebuild (with receipts) while the suspension and brakes have also been rejuvenated.
 
Overall, this Torana would make for a good Sunday driver or restoration project (or dare we say it, XU-1 replica build?).
